Not just because I’m Japanese…..but that probably helps. We read Sadako and the 1000 Paper Cranes in 1st grade.  Good read.  It was about a little girl that got Leukemia after the atom bomb was dropped on Japan.  She tries to fold 1000 paper cranes so she can get her wish granted – to live.
