never felt more like a superstar than I did while staying at the Park Hyatt Tokyo.  If this is what being rich and famous is like, I’m totally down.

Today, I’m going to tell you how amazing this hotel is. And tomorrow, I’m going to tell you how we stayed her for .50/night. Yeah.

Ok, so back to the Park Hyatt.  The level of customer service at this hotel surpasses almost any hotel I’ve ever stayed at.  I’ll walk you through our stay.
We arrived at the hotel a bit disheveled, backpacks and all.  We were greeted on the street level and asked our names for check-in purposes.  Then we were escorted to the hotel’s main lobby – on the 41st floor.  From there, we were escorted directly to our rooms by one of the hotel staff.  The check-in process occurred in our room, at the table, with an amazing view of Tokyo.

2013-Epic-0241 2013-Epic-0246 2013-11-114JapanThe bathroom had both a soaking tub and shower, 2 vanities and one of those fancy Japanese toilets.  There was tea, a nespresso, and a CRAZY backlit mini bar.

After a tour of the room, we headed on a tour of the hotel! The pool, fitness center and spa are located on the 45th-47th floors.  We decided to go for a swim and work off some of the rice we’d been eating the past 8 days.  They provided swim caps and goggles, water and robes.  Did I mention the 270 degree of Tokyo from the floor to ceiling windows?  Instagram will have to do for this one.

The Park Hyatt was made famous in Lost in Translation.  The bar on the top floor was the spot where Bill Murray and Scarlett Johanssens’ characters meet – she’s the singer, he’s the patron (I haven’t seen the movie, but that’s what IMDB told me).  There is a $20 cover at the bar, but it’s waived for hotel guests.  It’s a very fancy place, and to say that I felt a little out of place would not be an understatement. But we owned it.  We had money and they were willing to take it.  We had some drinks, a delicious pizza and some dessert.

2013-11-115Did you know that Ichiro has his own malt?  About $100 per glass!

IMG_4158  The views are great and the jazz band was pretty good too.

2013-11-111Is it worth the $20 cover?  Not for me.  But if you’re a fan of the movie, it might be.  Keep in mind, the decor has changed since the movie, so it doesn’t look the same (so I’ve been told).

For anyone interested, the spa is just as amazing as the rest of the hotel – but a review on the spa will be coming at the end of the trip.

Come back tomorrow if you want to know how we stayed here for $12.50/ night!
